Excessive Oil Consumption after Fuel Injector Recall?
Hi all,
In August 2015 our 2012 Q7 went in for the fuel injector recall and also 45k mi service. While in, they found a coolant line leaking and replaced that, which led to other issues - which they tried to blame on faulty sensors, etc.
In any case, I got the car back in mid August. On Christmas Eve, the min oil light came on. The car took a quart of oil.
Fast forward to last week (February 17th, 2016 or thereabout) and the min oil light is back on. The car has maybe 1.5k miles on it since December.
I was wondering if anyone had similar issues either after the recall work was performed or even just in connection with bad injectors in general.

The TDI has a common fuel rail system which runs on 30,000 psi of fuel inject into the engine. It will not come from the injector.
Now the OIL consumption in a TDI comes from the turbo section. There is a weak seal on the turbo to the air filter which it is suppose to circulate the oil. If you can look under neath the car in-between the trans cover and you should see a down pipe with a rubber seal about 6in long it should have no oil on it, if it does then the turbo inlet is leaking. It is suppose to be seal so it can recirculate from the engine and the inter coolers.
Hope this gets you in the right direction.
