not surprising, if ever tightening emissions regulations keep pace with the last two decades it wont be long before all gassers are getting expensive particulate filters and more and more emissions stuff until it strangles the manufacturers and consumers into giving up on internal combustion all together just like diesel cars.

recharge times and shortened range of PEV's dont need to improve much to compete after they suck all the performance, economy and longevity out of all the internal combustion vehicles..

Not long at all, around 1 September this year.

Although BMW are showing signs that they won't be putting them on at least some US vehicles, so maybe others won't either. The current EPA test cycle doesn't pick up the amount of particulates being produced at higher rpms from DI gasoline engines.

aside from some treehugging EU countries and a few others, nobody else gives a sh**T. Diesel production may slow but there is still a big market in the world and will be for quite some time.

Hey mate, you are exactly right there!! I work for Caterpillar over here in Australia and our whole industry network relies on diesel. All the mining machines I fix everday burn each around 270 litres of diesel an hour. Where is all that soot and burnt sulpher going to. The same ozone in the sky as these EU countries.
i really don’t understand how putting a couple of small engine diesels off the road with restrictions like what just happened in the US is making a difference??

yes indeed my friend. I recently got back from Italy and got some tickets. supposedly i went through some limited traffic zones which diesels cannot drive through. It's ridiculous !!!!

I love my US of A. I can smell the freedom
