GTX HIGH MILEAGE OIL 10W-40 ?
I AM DOING AN OIL CHANGE ON 2007 Q7 4.2. IVE HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS BUT FOR SOME REASON I THINK OLD OWNER HAD USED REGULAR DINO, BECAUSE IT NEVER LEAKED UNTIL I GOT FIRST OIL CHANGE WITH SYNTHETIC. I HAVE NO INTENTION IN FIXING OIL LEAKS, AS I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED AND PAID FOR OTHER SEALS AND STILL LEAKS. NOW QUESTION IS WILL IT HARM THE ENGINE IF USE GTX HIGH MILEAGE 10W-40? I WILL ONLY RUN IT AND CHANGE EVERY 3 MONTHS, OR 3K MILES.

It doesn't matter if you change it every 1,000 miles, it's still the wrong oil.
The engine mfr wants a 502.00 spec oil used. You will find all of this in writing in your Owner's Manual and printed on the under-hood label affixed to your car.

Titua, why are you afraid to use the correct oil?
Given your car's age and lack of warranty, you can literally pour anything into it without concern and you certainly don't need anyone's permission on this forum to do so.
If you are having major leaks, they're only going to get worse.

If your primary concern is leaking, why don't you pose the question: "Has anyone found a magic potion in a bottle that helps slow/stop leaks on these engine?"

Titua, do you know how many miles are on the car?

Ohh.
So, you're just going to run it until it quits, right? At this point, your choice of oils isn't going to change the final outcome.
I understand you have a number of leaks. Is the engine consuming oil as well?

consuming wouldnt know, because it leaks. i add every 2 weeks due to the leak. am assuming is just the leak. but it does have high mileage. i am thinking of doing the high mileage oil and a bottle of liqui moly 2009 for protection.
