Well, their claim is that the high mileage products "condition" all those leaky seals and should slow loss. There are loads of products out there, I don't have a feeling for which ones help.

GTX HIGH MILEAGE OIL 10W40 200k
I AM DOING AN OIL CHANGE ON MY A6 C6 3.2 200K + MILES IVE HAD IT FOR 4 YEARS IT LEAKS ALOT AM TIRED OF CHANGING SEALS AND I HAVE NO INTENTION IN FIXING OIL LEAKS, AS I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED AND PAID FOR OTHER SEALS AND STILL LEAKS. NOW QUESTION IS WILL IT HARM THE ENGINE IF USE GTX HIGH MILEAGE 10W-40 AND ADD A BOTTLE OF LIQUI MOLLY MOS2 FOR PROTECTION. I WILL ONLY RUN IT AND CHANGE EVERY 3 MONTHS, OR 3K MILES.

Titua, still the same answer as two days ago. The C6 cars also require 502.00 oil.
Do you want me to combine your two threads?

Well i have two audis which am tired of topping off, i see theres high mileage synthetic blend oil in europe with audi certifification, but here the same oil is not audi certified. Wonder if its safe to use it here.

You are adding oil every 2 weeks to an engine with 182k miles and you think the car has many years left? I hope that you find the magic oil that you are looking for.

With over 200k miles on the clock, and with the significant oil leaks you described, I would stick with the proper 502.00 oil and not worry about it.

Problem is one of the cars wife drive it. I hate to have her stop in middle of no where to top off. We all know putting engine oil on transmission or vice versa is harmful for the parts. Will putting high mileage oil not approved by audi going to kill engine? Like i mentioned i seened this synthetic blend oil high mileage in euro market but theres none here.

So you have 2 vehicles that you have stopped putting in the recommended oil and they are now giving you oil leaks? You are hoping that using the incorrect oil will HELP the oil leaks though. And even though your engine is leaking oil you think the engine is fine. You dont want to use the recommended oil. The incorrect oil you are using is supposed to be used for high mileage vehicles OR to increase the mileage between changes? Seems like finding your leaks would be a good idea. You also are trying to not use the recommended transmission fluid in another thread. I still dont understand why you don’t just use the recommended fluids and find your oil leaks. No offense, but you are likely not smarter than the engineers that chose these fluids for their mechanical systems.

I have always used the recommended synthetic oil. I have never used anything other than it. The problem is that it has developed leaks that i have fixed over and over. I fix one then another place starts leaking, due to the age of the vehicle its not worth to keep spending hundreds/thousands on just seals, plus expensive oil every week or two for two cars. Engine is smooth. And my concern was if i switch to high mileage oil what would be consequences. Thats my question whats the worst that can happen running that oil. Is it safe?
Also for transmission oil, i just wanted to find out if there were alternative oil for transmission other than oem from Audi. As sometimes they are over priced and knowing alot of car makers share transmission specs and brand with others why not save money if i am gonna get same performance or better for fraction of the price. Nothing wrong with spending money wisely.
