Hood won’t open!

Default Hood won’t open!
tried opening the front hood on my 2012. I pulled the handle and nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone else? Common issue?

Mine is an 97 so older. I have had that happen. I had to yank on the pull as hard as humanly possible to get it to open. When open I sprayed WD40 of the latch in the front of the hood. It was dirty and a little rusty. After cleaning I sprayed it with some white lithium grease. It's been fine since.

Looks like cable snapped. Made appointment with the dealer. Wonder what this is going to cost me.
