How do you know when dampers/air springs are worn and need replacing?

Default How do you know when dampers/air springs are worn and need replacing?

Q feels a little more floaty than normal in auto mode. Only have 30k on it, but wondering if the air springs / dampers are starting to go. Just wouldn't know how to really tell.

That is not your problem. There are no springs, just air bags. The springyness is squashing air so it wont wear out. You might if anything have a fault in the control system or valves. If air bags fail which is very unlikely, your car will just squat down really low and feel bumpy and hard. The compressor will run continually and you will get tons of warning stuff popping up.
