How to remove plastic fog grille surround to remove fog light housing?
I want to remove the Q7's fog light housing to install Lamin-x over the glass portion to prevent rocks from hitting and cracking the fog light glass.
I've searched and only found posts of people accessing the rear of the fog light housing to do a bulb change, but I wasn't sure if a full bumper removal was needed to perform some maintenance on the fog light housings themselves. (Wasn't this difficult in my B5/B6/B7.)

you can access from wheel arch or grille. The grille pops out but apparently it feels like its going to break so read more first if you can.
The wheel arch plastic has to come off then you can unclip the rear of the housing and pull it out from the back. Both write ups were old and the guys have pulled the pics (hate that!)
