Hi,

At the same time as searching for an air leak I'm contemplating servicing my Q7s air compressor. I have a question about jacking and jack mode in this scenario. I'm aware jack mode is needed to lock out the suspension during normal jacking. However does anyone know what happens when you remove the compressor? I.e is the locking mechanism physical or locked by air as I'd like to know if the car is likely to drop when I remove the compressor?

It ended up being my front right shock which I replaced with one of Arnott's by a good local independent. So far so good.

In the end the air leak wasn't that hard to figure out. My compressor could still pump up the front shocks and the one that decreased first was the leaking one.

Re compressor replacement: You *definitely* need a professional full car lift as the suspension system will drop when you release air from the system and the compressor is underneath the car. A repair that should be done by the professionals on such a large car.
