Default Key stuck in ignition, Battery Dead

Own a 2007 Audi Q7 4.2L TSI. Checked the voltage of my battery and the multimeter is reading 4.8V. Too low to crank or start the car.

Some icons are lit up on my dashboard. As I was jump starting the car, turned my key in the ignition, no crank, no start, but the key is now stuck in the fob. How can I get it out? I think the anti-lock system jammed it up and since my battery is reading so low, I can't start/stop the car to release the key.

Any ideas?

Popp the hood and charge the battery via the terminals. Then get a scan to find out which of your door locks is staying active and killing it.

Managed to jumpstart the car, drove it around for a half hour and re-charged the battery completely. The key came free right after the start. I'll take it to the dealer tomorrow just to verify everything and run those scans on the door locks. I've had some previous problems with the keyless locking system – it's never been 100%.

Thanks very much for your help. Really appreciated.

A bit late now, but my A8 had a small hole next to the key's mechanism. Inserting something like a paper clip in the hole, was supposed to release the key under these circumstances. I have not checked if the Q7 has a similar hole.
