Keyless door handle issue

Keyless door handle issue
The passenger side door will open automatically by touching handle, HOWEVER when I push the black button it will not lock. The other 3 door handles have no issue.
Does this mean I need a new handle? Why would it open but not lock?

Just had this same issue with my right rear door handle. Door handle being replaced under warranty. Proximity sensor (unlocking) and button (locking) are different parts of the door handle, but the door handle is a single part, so I'm told.

Thanks. Im out of warranty and had this issue in the past. I ordered the part and will have my service dept install. I did find some instruction out on the internet showing how to remove and install, however there is a step that can lead to a piece falling into the door cavity if not executed properly. Ill pass.

As you have had them replaced before for your dead battery issue, were they different handles? If they already knew that you had a problem with door locks should they have replaced them all?
You may be out of warranty but it seems you do have reason to push for some recompense.

The door handles on our Q7 have been a constant source of aggravation. I think we have had all four replaced over the years and still one will randomly decide not to work for a while then resume operation. I bet the Japanese and Koreans have better reliability with keyless entry...

Having the same issue on my '11 Q7. Proximity unlocks passenger door, but button doesn't lock. Is there any way to just replace the button mechanism without having to replace the entire handle? I'm out of warranty. Thanks.
