license plate bracket
In search for an alternative front license plate mount, I found this one for a fiat 500...you have to specify for the abarth 500 which also fits other cars. It was the only one I found that was long enough to stick out far enough and reach a solid mounting point.
Read my review on the link to get a description of how it was mounted. I will try and post pics later, but I mounted it using the screw points in the front of the lower radiator support into some L-brackets and then mounting the plate holder to the top of the brackets.
On my s-line prestige I snaked it through lower grill opening of the bottom fascia.

I used a “no hole license plate brackets” that goes into the front tow hook. To avoid the park sensor I used the left offset mount. And finally to get it to go farther away from the bumper I used a 1” bushing.

Pics updated in post #1
I made the brackets out of stainless steel, but they are just L-brackets and I used nylon spacers to elevate the plate mount a bit...but I mounted the brackets to existing oem mount points on the radiator support. This way there was no drilling and no weak points created.
You will understand better once you look at your Q7 in that area. Those pics do not do it justice.
BTW, you can flip the platypus plate mount upside down if you want your plate to mount higher...I didn't so I didn't risk blocking any air flow and I really did not want the plate to stand out any more than it already does.
