I attempted to hook a trailer wiring harness to my 2013 Q7 using a 7 pin - flat 4 adapter. Everything worked except for the brake lights. I then found that the tail lights on the lift gate stopped working even when the lift gate was shut. The bumper lights come on as if the lift gate is still open. Any suggestions on what might have caused this or information on a reset?

do you have LED tail lights on your trailer? If not then you probably need a vag-com or dealer to change your vehicle from Rest of World (RoW) to North America on the towing module.

Thanks for the reply! I don't have LED lights. How about I go the other way and replace my tail lights with LED lights. Think it would it work then? Or would I need a new wiring harness and adapter?

you just need your current towing module recoded to the correct region I think
