Default new owner 2012 Q7 TDI

Hello!

Looking now for winter tires. Q has 265/50R19 110R XL tires and rims. Can I mount 18" tires and rims and if so what are the specs?

Thinking of getting a set of winter tires wheels and rims to pop on in winter, (now) but not sure if I need to get 19" or if I can get 18".

Thanks for thoughts.

oh and Happy New Year!

Welcome! Yes 18" will fit if they're the same bolt pattern as your current rims (5x130) if your not looking for 'new' rims, check Craigslist, all VW Touareg, and Porsche Cayenne rims will fit as well. If your looking to save some money you could just purchase some winter tires for your 19" rims and just swap them out in the spring and fall. If you do end up on Craigslist or similar, be very leery of used tires. Or used tires on used rims. either way, good luck with your Q7!

Ok. Thanks. I understand the bolt pattern need, (5X130) but is there a spec for the rim size? and then also the tire size? for 18" I want to looking into both options, (just stretching 19" winter tires on my rims now) or getting a whole tire and rim set up in 18" for winter.

thanks!

Barga, the owner's manual will have various tire specs applicable to your vehicle. I'd check there.

You can also do research at Tire Rack's website.

I'm running the 255/55 tire per dealer's recommendation. No complaints or issues after 2 seasons running winters so fa.
