Simple design and it works... less than $15. I couldn't believe the $5.99 bluetooth stream so well without skipping. Revised the cost.
- Black box (wrong size for Q7) = $1.75
- Bluetooth = $5.99
- Mini Relays (A5W A5W-K DIP-10 Relay) (bought 5)=$1x5 $5.
- USB cable = $0 (thanks to my kids breaking them on their iPods). $0.
- Labor Satisfaction = Priceless
Total = $12.74

I am a new audi q7 owner. I cant figure out how to listen to music off of my galaxy S5. I connected my phone via bluetooth. I can make phone calls ect.
It wont let me listen to my music? I found an ipod-iphone aux cord in the glove box. I need one for my android galaxy s5...Id rather listen to my music with the bluetooth if possiable! PLEASE HELP!!!

b. Buy <a href="http://www.amazon.com/BlackBerry-ACC-41596-001-Music-Gateway-Packaging/dp/B008736UWO/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1442615189&sr=1-1&keywords=blackberry+bluetooth+gateway">this bluetooth dongle</a> and plug the other cable in, connect USB power to power the bluetooth and you're on your way.

I haven't tried the 2nd option, but by logic, it should work if the AMI cable is correct for your MMI version.

I have a GS5, and I have no problem streaming once the phone connects via BT.

I rarely use it though, as the SD cards are a much better option IMO.

I think the technology package ($4k) will include the bluetooth.

Im definitely not able to do this...No easier way? Why do I have to buy cords for a bluetooth connection? If bluetooth on my mmi works with phone calls why dosent work with music? I am not electrically inclined..lol

I think Audi expects its clients are "money is no object" people, but my sister didn't want to spend $4k for the "technology package" that includes the Bluetooth streaming option...
Your Q7 Bluetooth is programmed to accept only voice through phones - no music, therefore, if you want to stream music through Bluetooth, you must buy a Bluetooth dongle attached to your 30 pin AMI cable that they gave you (for using with old iPods, iPod touches and iPhones only).
I assume you don't have any old 30pin iPods, iPhones laying around to attach to your cable? Not an Apple lover? You can buy from Craigslist very cheaply these days and put tons of your music on it, hook it up and forget about it, the only draw back is you have to update your music using iTunes every time you have new songs. Yes, streaming music from Pandora or "iTunes Radio" is a great idea.

You can use the 2nd option I mentioned, although I haven't used it, if you did, and it worked, please feed back or if you'll never use the AMI cable that they gave you, PM me, send it to me, if I don't break it, I modify and send it back to you, attach a Bluetooth dongle and you're done - or I can buy a Bluetooth dongle just like the one for my sister and you'll pay me for it - Again, there's no way around the streaming Bluetooth by getting a Bluetooth dongle and modify the AMI cable.

Is your AMI box under the armrest just like my 2008? What year is your car?

What happened to this option? I was never able to get the ILive BT adapter to work in my 2011 Q7 but it works well on my old 30 pin Bose soundock

my Q7 is mi 2g and software is 4410, it happens to work without changing the resistor from 1.87k to 1k ohm. If you plug the bt dongle, wait for 7 min. And it doesn't stream then you need to add 1k or 2k resistor to make 1k for auxiliary audio detection. No way around it.
