Q7 2009 DrL on all the time
Hello again guys. I am trying to enable my DrL to be on all the time. 2009 q7 premium plus with hid light package. Selectable from mmi. On or off. But as you know when i put the parking lights in or headlights the DRL go out. So i am looking for the to be on all the time with headlights or fog lights. Or any combination. I tried 09 central convenience to change from 3,4,5 even 9. It threw a error at 9 but with others nothing changed. Or somehow enable drl lights which i changed from halogen bulb to error free leds to act as drl and parking lights instead the one from the turn signal assembly. I knownit is a bot confusing but i spent a few hours trying to figure it out and for the life me i cannot find something that explains the coding. Thanks all!

It is going to look like your high beams are on all the time.... It will put unnecessary glare into oncoming traffic which is dangerous.
You could always enable autobahn lights and the DRL would come on, but not until a high speed. I think it's 75 mph but I could be wrong.
If you're in the USA it's illegal to have more than 2 pairs of forward facing lights on at a time.

your vehicle, your decisions.
I had eBay v12 style led DRL/led turn signals installed and I purchased a male 194 open wire connector, and spliced connected it to a female 7506 end so it would be plug n play. and then I ran the wires up through to the front of the Q7 into the DRL location. it all worked fine, surprisingly no errors even though the 7506 bulb used more power than the 194 parking light.
I turned on my lights and stepped away, and the glare was awful. way to blinding, I never thought that it would put off such a bright glare. as you can see from the pictures I posted.
I was going to run the 7506 connection down to my parking lights, but didn't even bother because of the glare in DRLs. I put everything back to stock.
here's the 7506 open connector:

here's the 194 male connector:

Bu the looks at this car i doesn't really look that bad. And i guess just by looking at these pictures that he did this mod by using vag com. I do have the same set up and i can day that the leds are not that bright. I have exactly the same ones. Now if there is a sequence i have to do by all means i want it because I think it looks better this way than the side parking lights. They are to small.and yes i am from the states. Ohio

Those are my pics from my old Q7 which you've added to your post.
It's been a while since I did this but IIRC it was as follows:
Module 09 Central Electronics.
There is a 7 digit number, each of which sets a different switch.
From the left, I set the 4th digit to 5. This enables the LED DRL setting and tells the bulb check there's an LED, not an incandescent bulb.
I also had the last digit (7th) set to 2. This defines the country for the light settings. 2 sets it for Scandinavian countries, where the rear lights come on with DRLs. This may or may not be legal in your state. Yours should be set to 3, for USA. 4 is Canada and enables the fog lights as DRLs which, again, may or may not be legal in your state. 1 is for Rest of the World.
All the settings can be found at the ross-tech wiki: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Audi_Q7_(4L)
This worked on a UK spec 07MY, YMMV.
