Default Q7 3.0T TFSI oil capacity confusion

I am racking my brain trying to figure out how much oil goes in my 2011 Q7 3.0T gasoline tfsi engine. Base model not an S line but doesn’t mke a diff I think.

Bare with me because it’s not me !!

if i check the owners manual it says 8.1 litres with filter change. This is what I did. When I check the dipstick I am way over the max mark. By at least a litre.

Ill attach a pic from the manual.

Then I look online and threads for 3.0T engines in general say 7 litres.

Looking at oil change kits online some say 7L others say 8L. Could the dipstick be non original?? It’s got an orange top....

do I take out 1 litre??? Any help would be appreciated. What do you guys do?

AMSOIL online says 8.7 quarts. Which matches owners manual.

Check ECS running they sell kits with 7L and 8 quarts.... makes no sense.

that seems way wrong.
Driving one of these cars with too much oil will destroy the engine. how?
if the crank starts slapping oil, that creates air in the oil which makes the oil expand aka acting like even more oil is in the engine, aerated oil doesn't flow thru tiny holes, doesnt cool things that are supposed to be cooled, doesnt lubricate... and goodbye engine.
I would check with the dealer and check about the dipstick, never overfill one of these engines.

This is when a Fumoto drain valve comes in handy. You could easily drain the extra oil with one installed...As mentioned, extra oil can foam up and cause damage, and also cause damage to the emissions system (especially on the fairly sensitive DPF). You will need to drain the excess.

That said, I've rarely put exactly what the manuals say into an engine with just a filter. I always stop about 1qt short, and then add a 1/4qt or so at a time until I get to the full mark.

Back in 1990-ish, Audi had to send every owner of the 3.6L V8 powered cars a new page for their manual dropping the oil capacity from 10 down to 8. I had one a few years ago (man do all Audi V8's sound good!), and the manual had the replacement page pasted in...

yeah on this I would ask the dealership...
Every google search I do for a 3.0T it says 6.6ish quarts.
So I am wondering, does this car have an OIL COOLER or something where the extra oil resides???
