Q7 3.6l fsi ECP and engine light - solved
I have had the most annoying problem with ECP light along engine malfunction light on.
Error code like LPFP and CAM-shaft positioning error....
The symptoms were when I need power to pass a car or climb a stiff hill, the through ECP light with engine light, then can not be accelerated. Or when I was enjoying a driving on cruise control, the car never fail to give a engine malfunction light and ruin my happy day.
So, I took a part of the troublesome parts, not because, I am an such a expert, but I was willing to through this car away after break it into pieces with my bare hands, for ruining my precious weekend time. Anyway, I found a snapped sealing on the low pressure fuel sensor and also, found some tiny foreign objects from after cleaning the throttle body flap. It was surprisingly dirty.
According to self study program(ssp) for Q7, ECP may come on because of the throttle body malfunction.
Anyway, sum-up.
LPFP error caused by an O-ring on pressure sensor, not a sensor but snapped sealing.
ECP light caused by dirty throttle flap, not a throttle body malfunction, but dirty throttle flap did not working proper way.
If anybody has similar annoyance like me with your lovely Q7, try what I did.
I am re-enjoying my audi, again. So far.
Since 2007, I got this first model of Q7. It never stop giving some trouble in every way.
Electronically and mechanically. I admit that I drive a lot then average driving range of 12,000mile per year.
Just from curiosity, why do we buy Q7? My wife has A4 and the car is awesome. No problem at all. But, why Q7 does have bunch of problem? Does any other car from different manufacture such as BMW or Benz have same issues like? I really wonder.
3.6l fsi Q7 150,000 mile on it.
