In the last year and a half, I’ve been through my share of oil leaks; oil filter housing, lower oil pan and oil separator. The big daddy of ‘em all, the upper oil pan, has reared its ugly head. I have a 2007 4.2 that was purchased in ’06 and it has been a great ride. I don’t see shelling out $$$ to have it fixed. So, I’m going to deal with checking the oil level at every fill up and leave the territory markings on the street and not on the driveway or garage floor.

yeah that's what I have felt with since January I also had a cracked upper oil pan, plus the oil cooler was leak from the cooler was cracked as well. I have replaced ever o ring on every oil line on my Q7. A new upper oil pan is 850.00 just for the part. Plus 24 hours labor.. I found a non Audi dealership repair shop that say they can do a reseal job for about 1950.00 I would shop around. Or keep checking your oil levels.

For the oil leaks check your cam adjuster solenoids. I had the o-ring fail on mine causing the exact same leak at the back of the engine as well as the oil leak in the engine valley. Check out my profile for a DIY one how to fix this.
