Brakes and tires double whammy
My '09 with the 20's is asking for brake pads and needs new tires at 77K. We bought CPO with just over 50K.
I'm pretty surprised to need everything so soon since it all was supposedly new when we bought, but most of that 27K was suburb driving... it is what it is.
Brakes...
Found a local independent service shop that specializes in Audi's (very well regarded) and was thinking about using the Blauparts OE kits. About $900 to do everything ... And I guess I don't have a choice but to do both the rotors and the pads together, eh?
Any hard and fast recommendations not to use this kit, or to use others? Frankly I'd just like to do it as inexpensively as possible without compromising performance.
Tires...
I have read good things here about the Firestone Destination STs.
How do folks feel about rim protection on these?
For $150 a tire delivered after rebate, these seem like a no brainer... especially vs. $300 and up for stock Eagle LS2s and $250 for the Conti DWS or Pirelli Verdi All Season (even the new 65K ones).

Unless the parts are crap, 900 is an exceptionally good price for an all around brake job.
20+k miles on a set of tires is quite common for a q7, low thirties is the best you can hope for unless you're driving all freeway with no traffic at all. The q7 is very heavy.
Stay away from the continental dws. I just replaced all four on my car (sedan, not the q7), they were brutally worn on the outside as they have an overly soft sidewall.
