Q7 tire wear

Q7 tire wear
I have a 2013 q7 s-line pres titanium package. I have a little over 15,000 miles on it. I am in need of new front tires already. Has anyone had this problem with extreme tire wear? This is a little extreme in my opinion to need tires already.

Hello, what tires are on your Q7?
I just purchased a 2011 CPO Q7 that has 20" Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico's
I had them on my 04 BMW X5 and they only lasted 20k miles ... hopefully these last longer.
I ended up replacing them with some Michelin Latitude's and got double the mileage out of them.

Did you ever rotate the tires? Q7s are very hard on the fronts being so heavy. Even with rotation, I only got 19k on my OEM Conti 4x4. My Yoko Spec-X wore a bit better, I got 25k out of those. I'm on a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde now, which have a higher treadwear rating, so hopefully I'll get a bit more out of those. Which tires did your Q7 come with?

I was just told that my tires are at 4mm ! I have a 2013 Q7 Premium Plus at 15K miles. This is a very low mileage to change tires !!
The Service technician claimed that the stock tires last anywhere from 8K to 20K miles, and it depends on vehicle and driving conditions.
Wow !

Yeah... a heavy vehicle with quattro tends to eat up tires pretty quickly. My S-Line 21" setup with air suspension is on track to make it 20k miles, but just barely. If you have air suspension, I would suggest making sure you drive it in both height settings (auto and dynamic) periodically to even out the inside/outside wear. Keeping the right tire pressure is pretty important as well.

Thanks va-terps4. Unfortunately, my Q7 does not have the option of air suspension. Everything is automatic in it. I agree with the tire pressure...i was depending on the TMPS telling me when the pressure is out of whack, but I guess that is wrong...and I shud start managing the air pressure myself.
Meanwhile, its time to start searching the internet for the best tire deal

I am just short of 80,000 miles and am on my second set of tires. I replace the OEM tires when I got it, and put on some Bridgestone Dueler H/Ls. They lasted about 35,000 miles, and I then replaced them with an identical set. They are quiet, responsive and ride very very well.

I have a 4 month old 2014 Q7 Premium Plus that came with the Pirelli Scorpions from the factory. After 17,000 highway miles, i have 5/32 tread left and will probably get another 3-5,000 miles out of these. Very disappointing and Audi will not do anything to assist.
I looked at the Michelins ($1,250 out the door at Costco), Conti DSWs ($1,100 OTD) and Yokahamas ($780 OTD). Yokas are supposed to be quiet and have a high tread wear. Tire guy i have dealt with for years, said I should see 30,000-35,000 out if the Yokas with proper rotation every 6,000-7,000 miles.
Love the truck but very disappointed with the Pirellis and overall wear.

I just replaced my 20" Yoko parade spec-x tires. They were all worn evenly down to 3/32, but they only had 17k miles. They are quiet and have good road manners, but they don't last. My 2 cents...
