Default Q7 Top Speed?

Just curious, I read online that the my 4.2 is governed at 130, given, the speedometer on 2007-2008 models goes up to 160, 2009+ goes to 180. I can't imagine the Q7 driving at 130mph. I feel it would not be able to reach those kind of speeds, like it really matters though.

US Spec Q7s are limited to 130 MPH. I can tell you that you can set the cruise control at 130 and it will hold all day. Germen spec Qs will blow by you. Having just returned from Germany, I attest that the Q7 cruises comfortably at 120-125 at just under 3k RPM. Missing the Autobahn!

I feel that 130 is no problem in the Q7. I've had both of mine (3.6 and 4.2), well, up quite a ways...

That speed is NASCAR territory!! Nevada seems like it would be a fun place with a sports car!

Default you owe it all to the feds

who think it is their job to protect you from your self. It is speed limited because of the tires, to pass fed. rules.

I hit 130-135 last weekend on the way to Wendover pretty effortlessly. I'm running the APR tune, not sure if that bypasses the factory governor but it was still pulling. I am however running 22's so I'm not sure how accurate that speed is.

GIAC & APR Tune remove top speed restrictions.
22" Wheels will display a slower speed than actually traveling if the overall rolling diameter larger than the oem wheel.

On European ones we have the 155 limiter, in my 4.2tdi this was removed when mapped as I think the stated top speed is something like 150 out of the factory for the later more powerful 8speed version.
Audi Q7 4.2 TDI | Autocar they say they can vouch for the older versions 147 top speed!!

looks like you went little faster than 130 if you are on 22s and did not change your rolling diameter in VCDS.

Btw, did you notice a difference in acceleration off the line and at cruising speeds after you got the APR chip? I am considering pulling a trigger on this

I assume you have the TDI, as your signature states
