I have the same problem (and it is very distracting). It got worse after the last service. My service report indicates I will need new brake pads and disc's shortly - just waiting for the car to tell me this. Have just clicked over 30,000kms and yep its going to be expensive!

Mine makes this exact noise(OP) as well. Has done it most of the time we have had the car. I may try complaining as well and see if I can get new brakes out of the deal. I assumed it was brake drag(could certainly be bad calipers. I wonder if the newer cars do this?

UPDATE:

I finally got a chance to bring my car to the dealer for the same problem.... brake dragging noises.

They replaced the rear calipers last time but that didn't solve the problem. According to the dealer, they adjusted the E-brake and I haven't picked up my Q7 yet. So we will see if that would solve anything....

I usually solve my brake noises by
running water on them once a week and washing off the excessive dust.
