Steering wheel on Q7 4L seems to be sitting lower than usual.
I recently picked up a 2007 Audi Q7. Everything about the vehicle is great, except for one thing. The steering wheel adjusts up and down, but it seems very off.
If the steering wheel is all the way up, the space between the column and just below the cluster is about 1.5 inches. I can put my flat hand in between.
If the steering wheel is all the way down, I have enough room for my fist (insert fisting jokes here) to slide in.
Its as if the alignment of the motors is lower by 1-2 inches.
This problem is I cannot see the top half of the instrument cluster, the top of the steering wheel blocks it.
Does anyone know of a way to readjust the steering wheel mechanically, through VCDS or any other means?
Thanks in advance.

I had my 2011 Q7 do something similar. It only moved a portion of what it should. I can't recall the specifics, but I used VCDS to reset the learned positions. I think it was a selection in basic settings for the steering column.

Thanks GTPlus.
I figured where I went wrong, I was in module 16 which is steering wheel. There was no access to Basic Setting in that module. However in module 09 there was.
[Select]
[09 - Central Electronics]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 001
[Go!]
Activate the Basic Setting.
[ON/OFF/Next]
The adjustment should now be learned.
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
My steering wheel is way up to normal position now. So that's what my instrument cluster looks like.
