No, 10,000lbs+, I would not try that.

Exactly! Hahahaha! I know it's not a good idea. and won't do it. But the thought of doing it instead of borrowing a truck keeps lurking around my head. Lol I'm sure my rear wheels would be touching the wheel wells from all of the weight

What's the total weight of the boat and trailer? Maximum is 6,600 lbs with a 660 lb tongue weight.

Yeah around 9,300 is the Dry weight of trailer and boat.. but then add gas, cooler other gear, and its well over 10k lbs. Not a good Idea.. Lol. I was just reading horror stories (Transmission, suspension damage) for towing boats to large for a vehicle online. No thanks. I will stick with towing just the 18' Seadoo for now and find other means for the big boat.

Don't do it. I can think of all the regrets you'll have later on and all the second guessing with any engine or transmission issues you may have down the line.

Since there is a lot of talk on the TDI, I thought I'd chime in on the 3.0T:
My Q7 3.0 supercharged is new to me, and I was a bit nervous about towing my 21' wakeboarding boat, around ~4,000 pounds, after having a GMC Yukon Denali, with a 6.0 V8... Well, I can report the Q7 tows just as good which is an absolute shocker, I couldn't believe it and still can't. It towed at 80mph fine, and had enough extra power when needed. That being said, I am planning on tuning it to get more, which would be nice.
Although I thought the S-line Prestige was fully loaded, mine does not have the adaptive suspension. The car does noticeably vibrate/shake when towing on bad pavement and hitting bumps. It's not torture but definitely noticeable.
I also read through the thread, and I guess I was lucky. The ramp I used to launch is not steep and I had to get the tailpipes in the water to get the boat off. I was quick about it, but I must have been lucky that water didn't get too far in the exhaust tips.
All and all, I know the TDI tows well, but I was very happy with the 3.0T (although its not a turbo...). Impressive car to me after my 6 months of ownership

The 3.0T doesn't have the same emissions control gizmos in the exhaust that the TDI has. I could have also just gotten unlucky. The supercharger on the 3.0T gives it power similar to a turbo which is why it is such a great feature of the 3.0T. Glad to hear that the gasser is such a good puller. If I had to get rid of my TDI I honestly do t know what I'd buy to replace it.
