Default Update 2015-2016 Navigation DVD on 2008 Q7 3.6L

I finally update the 2015-2016 North American Region Navigation DVD on my 2008 Q7 with original MMI 2G 4140 version and everything went perfectly.
Cheers,
Louis

I did the same thing on the same MMI version a month ago and it all went smoothly. Besides being the most difficult to use GPS I've used, it seems to also be the stupidest. I've had a few cases of it wanting me to go the wrong way on a one-way street, and plotting significantly longer routes than necessary. My $150 Garmin makes mistakes too, but a lot less of them, and it's way easier to use.

It’s should be on the right on top where the cover is. Snap out the cover

I looked on the right lifted up the cover and storage tray then look to the right and it's just like an amp or do you have to take off a side panel

Open the hatch, lift the cover, remove the tray. It's a fairly standard looking DVD drive to the right of where the tray was. You have to bend down to see it as it's as high up as possible. Nothing else to remove once the tray is out.

Lift up the cover and remove the tray. The DVD drive is high up, to the right of where the tray was. No need to remove anything else.

I see there's a change in operation with the new navigation DVD. With the new DVD, when you change the zoom level with the MMI ****, that level sticks as the default. WIth the old DVD, the zoom always reverted to the fixed default of showing the entire trip. I find the GPS to be a lot more useful the new way.
