Anyone here in the BayArea with a Ross Tech cable they'd be willing to let me borrow?

Is there a single reference page to lookup [links to] the various mods?

Hi iconoclast,

Do you know if there is a post talking about LED reverse lights? I tried several types of error free LED's but have been unsuccessful in replacing the reverse light bulbs. The LED's would not work with my 2015 Q7.

Thanks in advance!

John

unfortunately i am not aware of any but if i had to guess you would need a set that had a built in resistor. other than that i do not have any knowledge on the topic. you can adjust the brightness & contrast of the RVC through VCDS for better night visibility if that is what you're trying to accomplish.

Some of the LED's I tried claimed to have a built-in resistor that would work with Audi Q7. I was able to replace my wife's 2013 S5 reverse lights without an issue.
Yes, my goal is to increase the reverse light output. I do not own vac com; therefore, I just tried the route of replacing the bulbs. I thought there would be a line of codes in VCDS that allow me to switch to LED.

Can you post the link that has the codes of the brightness adjustment that you mentioned above?

Thanks,

John

I'm a newbie here, but have been lurking for a while. Is everyone using the Ross-Tech VCDS for coding?
I'm very eager to start coding my '13 Q7 S-line+ and my wife's B8 Allroad, but wanted to start with the proper tools. Sorry for the basic question, but there is a lot of non-english info out there. Thanks in advance!

yes. the hex-can should work for both vehicles but contact ross-tech directly and they will guide you in the right direction.

Welcome

I have the same Q7, except Atlantis Blue... The HEX-USB+CAN & Ross-Tech VCDS works for me for coding & diagnostics. I also use VCDS generic mode for other OBDII cars.

I've been looking at various mods/coding again & got frustrated as info seems to be spread all over. I've started collecting links & thought I'd share them in one place to make it easier for people to find stuff...
