No not at all.

Most of the Q7 water pump start at 100,000 miles for replacement.

Default Waterpump

My 2010 tdi waterpump went out at about 12000 miles. Towed and covered under warranty. Audi even reimbursed the purchase price of my Audi Care for the inconvenience.

Also had the water pump go on our old 2011 Q7. Had to be towed in for service. I don't remember the mileage, but it was in the 30K's I think so it was covered under the regular warranty.

Are you past 4 years on your warranty? Otherwise you should be covered at 45K.

my bad i thought it said 120,000 hence my reaction. 12,000 is super premature but it happens here and there. Definitely no excuse

The vehicle was still under the 4 yr/50k bumper to bumper warranty at the time.
