What is the battery specifications of 2008 Audi Q7
I went to costco to check if they carried Audi 2008 Q7 battery and they didnot. The specs he gave was Group Size Index 49 and 94R. But I could not find both these combinations to research.
The dealer asked me $625.00 to replace the battery. Is the battery and maintenance that expensive ?

It should not be that expensive to replace at the dealership. I think it was around $400 to replace the one in my '07 4.2 at the dealership late last year (December). 94R is just a Group 94 with the terminals reversed (hence the R). That size battery is between $150-200 by itself (I bought a similarly sized battery for my 4.2L converted Coupe quattro last year also).

Also, the Q7 has a battery management system that must be reprogrammed when the battery is replaced, because it also controls the output of the alternator, and can cause premature battery failure. The system controller must be programmed with a new battery serial number that is only on the factory/OE batteries. So, there is that issue. Get a factory/OE battery and know someone with a VAGCOM or similar cable, and you can get around taking it to the dealer. Battery is under the driver seat.

I believe it is posted either on here or on a VAGCOM wiki. I have not done it with my VAGCOM cable, because the only VAG dealership in my town is a VW dealership that I will not use ever again, so I did not want to ship a heavy battery. I took the 4.2 1.5hrs away for service work, so I had them do the battery at that time since it was already being worked on.

Ah most of this information is bogus
The battery is just a battery u can use 12345678 as yor serial number it doesn’t matter
what matter is replacing the battery with the same CCA and of course if it’s AGM then and AGM
this is not a laptop battery there is no electronics.
Only thing the car can physically test is the CCA.
Match that and the makeup type aka AGM and u r fine.
I made a video about it. And programming. Adding 1 to serial to quell the whining. Also due to I used a different CCA I chose a battery type that matched it to enter. This ain’t voodoo or other black Magic’s.
