2007 Audi Q7 4.2 S Line MMI Not Working!!

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on audiforums. Im having problems with my q7. The mmi system doesnt work, the screen turns on for about 3 second then turns off. It works whenever it wants to (but rarely does) ive been having this problem for about a week now. I dont have warranty on it, it has expired. Ive been to the dealer and theyre asking about $300 for doagnostics test but money is really tight right now. I was wondering if anyone knows the solution to this! Nothing has spilled on it i know for a fact. I was thinking if its maybe a bug in the system or maybe if its a fuse.

What i have tried is rebooting the system with 3 button method.. That has not worked..
I also checked the fuses in the trunk and on the passenger side fuse box, they were all good

It could also be a sign your battery is on it's last legs. I just had my 2008 Q7 in for it's 45k mile service and asked the dealer to check the mmi as it wasn't coming on intermittently. They found the battery was the issue. The car was powering down the mmi to conserve power. The replacement cost approx. $400 which included labor. Good luck.

Thank you for replying, i have changed the battery on the car once before 3 years ago. My car has 74k milss on it. I am going to hook up cables to the battery tomorrow and try to see if thats the problem, i hope it is so i can replace it and have the problem solved.

Do you have a sunroof?
If yes check for water ingress in the rear right quarter panel.
A sunroof drain problem can result in water entering the amp or the fiberoptic ring stopping everything from working.
Along the same lines has anyone spilt anything into the center console?

I have a panoramic sun roof and the amp is good, no water has been spilled on the console. I took it to a body shop and did a vag-com scan but it couldnt communicate with anything that had to do with the mmi.

Well i just wired the battery to another cars battery and it didnt make a difference.. Losing hope

Read this old thread LINK OR Try testing with a fiber optic bypass loop.
Lets hope its the fuse.

I read it and from what i understood is that i need to buy a new power amp and replace it and that i also need to get it checked by the dealer to see if any of the sunroof drains is leaking on the power amp. I was just wondering how much i can buy the amp for
