2008 Q7 interior lights stopped working

Hello, trying to see if you can help me solve the mystery. My interior lights suddenly stopped working. None of the light, map lights nothing is working. The trunk cargo area lights are the only ones that are working. The front and middle ones are not. Main switch is in the proper position. The sun visor lights not working either. Checked the fuses, unplugged and reset the convenience module. Used the Ross-Tech and got the following:

2 Faults Found:
01699 - Motor for Central Locking; Hatch/Trunk (V53)
009 - Open or Short to Ground
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01101001
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 60

01701 - Dimmer for Interior Lighting
007 - Short to Ground
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01100111
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 254
Reset counter: 185

Any advice on what else I can try it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like a control module is bad.

Ok, I will take a look and let the forum know. thanks a lot. I though it was the convenience control module but I swapped that with another one and it did not make a difference.

Thanks

Ok got it all figure it out. The issue was that one of the two sun visors wiring was making a short. I removed both and inspected the wires and found the left side sun visor wiring bad.

Fixed the wiring and now it is all working.

Thanks all

how did you fix the wiring? I think I have the same issue. I dropped my passenger side headliner enough to fix a leaking drain tube which required taking down my sun visor. Now none of my interior lights work, vanity, map, none.

Update, for anyone else, my issue was the exact same. The passenger sun visor wiring gets smashed during assembly and its just a matter of time. I unscrewed the visor, pulled the wires down enough to unhook the clip. Shire enough, bare wires showing. I saudered the break and covered with tape. All good now!
