2012 Q7 3.0T Starts and then dies

See the video at
. Sometimes it throws P0172 and P0175 together.

Anyone ran into this before?

I saw that behavior in my 2011 - i know this sounds stupid, but is the fuel below 1/4 of a tank?

Seems like whatever you did, it fixed it, but more details about what "part" you installed would help.

Thanks for the feedback arU4ic. The part I replaced was the temperature and pressure sensor: . It didn't solve the problem. I'll pay attention to the gasoline fill level to see if it is only when below 1/4 of a tank.

Yeah, the Q7 has two full tanks (sorta) and there is a pump that moves fuel between the two - in my car one pump was down and I had this exact behavior.

Thanks for the help and advice. I ended up taking it to the dealer because the problem continued to worsen. It turned out to be the high pressure fuel pump. Cost to replace was $700, and well worth it, it is running great now.

Monte, My Q7 is doing the exact same thing. Can you get the P/N for the pump from the receipt or any codes that came up? Thank you

Monte. Thanks for posting my car has exact same issue Just want to verify so i dont buy the wrong part. Did you have the mechanical pump on the engine replaced. Or the one inside the gas tank?

Going to bump this thread instead of starting a new thread. My 2013 is doing the exact same thing, It will die each time i try to start unless I give it a lot of gas, then it cranks up and runs. Anyone else ran into this problem and resolved it with replacing the pump?

I had this same issue with our old 2007 Q7 with the 4.2 V8. The left side HPFP failed both mechanically and electrically, resulting in a ton of fault codes, I chased my tail for days. The engine would start, but idled very rough, had no power, etc.
