Am I the only one in the US that wants a 4.2tdi Q7?

I'm reading through the article thinking to myself that this is better than any other SUV out there. The photos are amazing, I love the interior. The price seems a little high for the US market, but people are paying big bucks for less functional vehicles. And the fuel mileage is a little better than 21mpg with all that torque. WOW. I have a deposit sitting idle at a dealer for a V12tdi if it's ever made for us, I think I'll call on Monday and move it to the V8tdi and see if anyone at Audi notices that we want that motor here.

Tuned/chipped 4.2 TDI is only .4 second slower to 60

than V 12. Chipped V12 must be faster than time itself.
I recon 4.2 is going to be much more practicle car but looks like you will have to import one yourself if you want one in the near future.

I read in some article that Audi are going to build the 3.0 TDI engine in the US. Does this make sense or was it just poor grammer by author?

The best thing for the rest of the planet in terms of efforts to thwart Global Warming would be for the US to get better mpg so we should be sending U guys free TDIs:-)

Ahh yes how does that Kool-Aid taste? The good old US is the reason for everything wrong in the world. Tell me, was the US responsible for melting all that ice 10000 years ago?

Importing my own...

Well that certainly isn't practical. For the cost of that I can afford to burn gas at 14mpg in a 4.2 s-line and get the interior customized to have alcantara seat inserts and contrasting stitching. I'd rather do my part to help though...even if it's only a small part, and get torque as my reward.

Dont get me wrong on this ...

I am poking fun at the EU fanatical element who want us to take the bus to work and at the same time rip out their windows to replace them with tropical hardwood "because it lasts longer"

If I have any criticism about Americans it is just that too often you dont get the joke.

Oh. Well then I'm guilty on that one! Sorry. The whole man made global warming thing just stinks rotten to me. I'm not closed minded but I'm convinced the jury is still out.

There is no hope for the 4.2 TDI to be in the States in any kind of model; however, the V10 TDI has been here since 04, so far, I went through the 04, and now the 07 model in Touareg form. For quite a while, I drove the V10 S8 and V10 TDI Touareg and I am here to tell you that I like the V10 TDI better than the S8. Why people are just wishing the things that are not available for any time soon and pay no attention to the good things that are already here. I was also a satisfied user of MB CDI 6 cylinders for all most two years. Just skew the AOA and VWOA for not bringing over the V8 4.2 and V6 3.00 TDI here. The V10 are two durable 2.5 inline TDI combined; just as it is, you will feel the engine can move the hill without chipping it!

Where are you located? (and I'm jealous)

V10 Treg

I did drive a Toureg v10tdi, great motor, not a fuel ecomony stunner, but the interior and rear tail lights just bug me to no end. I buy a car for 100,000 miles, that includes my 911 turbo. I get the right thing for me that I love every aspect of it, custom tailored to me...that way I enjoy every mile. I still love my Volvo, but I'm needing an extra row of seats for kids and clients. The X5 3.0sd twin turbo might make the grade as well, but they seem so problematic.
20 mpg is the minimum requirement these days, along with 300 hp, 400 lb/ft.
