A/C died yesterday. Where's the A/C compressor located?

depending on the engine, usually in front on the driver (left) side or at the back of the engine (4.2) but I would have it checked by someone that knows what they are doing first. there is a lot of electronics involved with the AC system and would hate to see you throw money out the windowé

it's a 3.6 model. Could you please be more speciffic, where in front? If I'm standing in front of the engine compartment, where is it? I'm thinking I need to jack the car up and it's somewhere under.
Before getting it checked, I wanna check it out myself. I've done a lot of work on BMW, including electrical and programming, just not very familiar with the Audis. Thanks.

Are you sure it's the compressor? Mines currently isn't working either, I had a diagnostic check done and it needs a a/c high pressure sensor. Apparently that's quite a common replacement part sold by Audi. My car will be getting one fitted on Monday.
