HELP! Tire Pressure Monitor Reset
 

I have a 2007 Audi Q7 that I need to turn off the tire pressure sensor warning on. It's driving me nuts!! I just had all new tires put on it and they couldn't figure it out either. I went to the car menu with the key turned to on but engine not running and there is no option for the tire pressure anywhere. Am i missing something, is it somewhere else??

Unfortunately I don't believe you can legally turn them off because you'd be disabling a safety feature which is against the law. Did you remove the monitors?

No - I just want to turn on the warning, or reset it might be better wording. It keeps coming on even though the tire pressure is fine and I got new tires. I know some cars you can push the car button then scroll down and reset the warning light, it's just not an option in my car so I'm wandering if it's in a different place. In re reading my original post I see how it doesn't get across what I'm trying to do. But thank you for the reply, it's really just an annoyance at this point.

There's a place in MMI where you can store tire pressure readings. Not sure where though. Maybe the batteries are going dead on the monitors. That could be causing it. Which tires are triggering the warning?

It doesn't tell me which tires are triggering it, the warning light just comes on. When I had the tires replaced they said all the monitors tested fine.

Oh that's right, Audis don't tell you which tire. Forgot about that. I know it's a common problem that the batteries go dead in the monitors, which then triggers a warning. Good luck

Thanks, I might have to suck it up and take it to the dealer 😱 Which I was hoping to avoid, oh well.

Hopefully someone with greater knowledge in this area will chime in sooner then later.

I'm not familiar with the MMI in the 2007 Q7, but do you have a "CAR" button around the MMI knob? If so, go to that menu and you might see Tire Pressure Monitoring there, or you may have a menu that says servicing in checks and the TPMS reset will be in there. Or once you hit "CAR", you might have to hit car systems, then TPMS or servicing and checks might be in there.

I have no idea how the 2007 MMI is setup, but hopefully one of the ways I put is correct.

I think we're going to see a lot of these posts soon from 2007/2008 owners. I too have a 2007 Q7 and my TPMS sensors starting dying last year. The batteries appear to last several years and/or about 100k miles before the sensor needs to be changed (batteries are not replaceable).

I was constantly having to reset my TPMS as the reset would solve the problem for a few/several days before the dying battery(s) caused a new fault. To reset the TPMS sensors, press the 'car' button while the car is turned on and in 'Park' (some versions require that only the ignition accessory is on (engine off), scroll down the menu and about 1/2 way down you'll see the Tire Pressure Monitor option. Press the option and press again select Reset or Change wheels.

Testing a sensor that is dying is not going to diagnose the problem because they can't test battery strength - they only test whether the sensor is transmitting a signal. A dying sensor only intermittently fails to send a signal...

If you need new sensors, the dealer will want to charge $600-$700 (~$500 parts plus labor). Independent tire shops will be less at around $400 installed. I changed mine myself for under $200 but you'll need a tire shop to dismount your tires and it was a huge PITA to remove the old sensors. See my post from last year:
