Interior lights upgrade

I am considering the upgrade to LED light bulbs in my Audi Q7 but cannot find any data on the fitting and removal of the light clusters or type of bulbs fitted. There is no data in the Owners handbook so have any of you guys got any idea where I may find this information (other than the dealer)

Which lights? I thought the footwell lights were LEDs

Its not that simple

You will have problems as the current draw is so little you will get failure reports.
You need ballast resistors in line to equate to the original draw and then you get heat and failure problems with them
I dont know if/how you can adjust settings with VAG Com but you cant straight swap LED for standard light bulbs.

This is correct. I tried changing the license plate lights and kept getting errors.

Like on current-gen Lexuses? the white lights look awesome!

Back to the drawing board then!........Although..........

It is possible to fit inline resistors on the daytime driving, side, and all other exterior lights using "Scotch Block" connectors, but somehow I do not want to hack into the lighting looms fitting a dozen or more resistors.

I think I'll have to wait for the time when a lighting manufacturer has come up with a white light system compatible with 12 Volt supply (if ever there comes a time!) and who has eliminated the need for resistors.

The japanese lighting firm PIAA manufacture some "White" light bulbs, they are not LED, and are quite on the expensive side.

I suspect Audi are holding out on us for the MK2

I say year four or five we will be offered;
LEDs all over the car.
The electromechanical (or something like that) parking brake.
Integrated AMI
Adaptive cruise control as standard.
Slightly revised lower body panels.
I just cant see how they can improve the lines of the bodywork though...its just awesome.

Audi should follow BMW on the USB adapter. Just a USB port and a built-in HDD would be awesome!
