o2 sensor location
 

Hey guys I live in united states and I own a 2008 Audi q7 v6 3.6l FSI in which my check engine light came on when I had to punch it really fast. I plugged an obd2 scanner to it and I got code p2234 which states its an heated o2 sensor (something like that) it also states that its bank 2 sensor 1. I also have confirmed with an auto parts and a local shop they also said its the same as I got. The problem I'm having is that both of my exhausts pipes run on the passenger side of the vehicle and I can't figure out which pipe is bank 1 and which is bank 2. (Which I'm going to go buy some torx sockets to take off the cover and check by locating the cylinders) but would also like for some Info from my Fellow Audi members to confirm when I do find out. If you can help, all info is greatly appreciated.

Bank 1 = Passenger side, Bank 2 = Driver side,
Sensor 1 = Front, Sensor 2 = Rear Pre-Catalytic Converter

On the driver side it is right under the cyclinder head you will see sensor 1. Just follow your exhaust under the cylinder head you will see a pre cat, then after that you will see O2 sensor 2 then both left and right will meet in the middle to the main CAT.

If you have a Ross tech VCDS it would tell you a code on what 02 will come up.
Drive pre cat is G108.
Driver after pre CAT is G131.
Passenger pre CAT is G39.
Passenger after pre CAT is G130.

The problem I'm having is that both of my exhausts run down on my driver side together. What I need to do is locate my cylinder 1 and the exhaust manifold that is connected to that cylinder is my bank 2 and as you stated sensor 1 is pre cat so that's the one I'm going to replace. Its just weird because usually on v6 you have an exhaust on each side of the engine which is easier to identify bank 1 and bank 2. On this vehicle both exhaust run on my driver side as if it was a inline 6 cylinder but its not. Its a v6 with the cylinders running at a 10.5 degree angle. Dohc.

Correction. Both exhausts pipes run down my passanger side. Not driver side. Typo*

Looking for some help, I have been battling this issue for weeks. I bought the parts and attempted to remove the valve cover on my own but once the fuel rails came into play i opt'd to have someone one do it. Now i have been back and forth with issues of gas smell and so forth. Those are corrected but now I have oil in the spark plug coils and the pressure in the crankcase is really high. If i pull the oil dip stick i actually get a puff of air followed by oil coming. In reading several on line documents i performed a test and took the air breather hose off the PCV box plugged and left the other one alone, everything ran great, oil tube no positive pressure slight vacuum and i could remove the oil fill cap easily. I am headed back to the repair shop tomorrow but does this sound like the membrane was not installed properly?

I'm having this same issue... All of the sensors are on the passenger side and I'm assuming the "driver" side sensors are the rear ones.

Also, I have a 7/8" socket that seems to be a smudge too big and is stripping the old sensor... Is this the correct socket for the O2 sensor replacement? There's slight wiggle room.

How are you putting a socket on it? use an adjustable wrench..

The pipe closest to the drivers side and running to the drivers side headers is, wait for it.. the drivers side.
