Default $699 processing fee?? $750 shipping fee??

So I'm in Virginia and trying to buy my q7 3.0 v6. And a dealer in New York has the exact exact one I'm looking for. Dealer wants $750 to flat bed it over to Virginia. And dealer processing fee is $699.

sounds outrageous??

Where I work if we drive for your car (we'll usually go up to 300 miles) it's free. If it gets flatbedded the customer pays. The dealer processing fee is high, but I believe it is typical for that area.

I think its expensive but probably not unfair since shipping the car is expensive (and odds of you giving the dealer future business is close to 0). Probably can get a 1 way plane ticket for less and just drive the car home.

$750 for flat bed is a bit high but not unheard of. $699 is outrageous. I've never seen over $300. They know they have what you want. Offer them $900 for shipping and processing

It has gotten to absurd levels in Florida. One dealer I went to wanted to charge $845 dealer fee and $199 electronic tag filing fee (costs them around $20 through an agency). So even if you seemingly get the car at or below invoice, they still slap these fees on to make their minimum profit amount. You just have to keep these fees in mind when working out a deal, or compare out the door prices (for your own situation only, difficult to compare to others, which is exactly what the dealer wants).
