Default 20 Inch wheels to 19 or 18s

Call me crazy but I want something that has less road noise then the scorpions, and a smoother ride (Yes I have adaptive chassis)

Anyone done the same? Trying to find a set of 19/18 inch wheels. Gonna put some Michelin's on it and run it

Yes. I just put 19s on mine for the winter. Mostly I was trying to find a cheaper solution for snow tires than the absurdly expensive 20” tires that fit the stock wheels. But I’m quite happy with the results with respect to ride quality. The car is a bit “splashy” in the corners now, though...
Here are a couple pics.

Mandrus “23” wheels in matte black. 19” by 8.5” wide, ET25.

I did the same - went with 255/55 19" Blizzaks and MSW Type 48 Black wheels for the winter. Ride is a bit smoother than with the standard 20" run flat Goodyears...

Yeah, I got the idea here. I looked at the MSW wheels, but I just didn’t like them. I probably spent a couple hundred more than I had to, but the wheels were worth it to me.

I went with Michelin X-Ice XI-2 tires in 255/55R19. I ran Blizzaks on my A4 Avant for a couple years. They were good, but tire wear was high. Last year I ran X-Ice 3s on the Avant, and they seemed to wear better. I figured I’d try Michelins on the Q7...

Anything has to be better than the Goodyears in the snow, though.

I minused 2 & went with yokohama iceguards, 255/60-18 on msw type 48 wheels. We’ll see how the handling & ride feel when i put ‘em on next month.

I was looking for an all season tire- preferably a Michelin branded one if possible. Now just need to find some wheels....

Here is mine on 19" MSW wheels and Blizzaks. It rides like a pillow compared to 20" runflats, and I think they look as nice!

That's why I opted 19" on my order. I tested 20" and it seems a bit harsh to me. 19" will come with RFTs as well so I feel that could somewhat compensate the cornering stability issue.

FWIW if you go to 18's it opens up All Terrain options, which you can get with the 3 peak mountain and snowflake symbol.. basically all season snow tires that wont wear fast, real truck tires that will shrug off the worst winter potholes.. AFIK there are no all terrains in 19in
