how can I know the build date? Does the window sticker tell that? Thanks!

there are a few thread on this forum about the reliability issues. I am assuming 2018 model has much fewer.

Usually in between the passenger side doors is a manufacturers labels that says that. I'm sure the window sticker does too. Or ask the dealer.

Default Invoice price?

the dealer tells me 64500 is 3200 below the invoice. So the invoice is only less than 5% off? 67700/70795=0.956?

Sounds like a good deal, but how much can you get off for a 2018 and how long would you have to wait for it?

Forget about invoice-based quotes.

7% off 2018 with no trade. Doc fee ok.

More off a 2017. How much more is up to you, but consider more depreciation, no soft-close-doors, and less time to work out bugs. I would personally want $3K-5K more off a 2017 than a 2018, which is like 11-14% off MSRP.

Do you believe your Q7, which I assume is an early build 2018, has fewer bugs that a 2017 that was built 1-2 weeks before yours?

Reliability issues for 2017? The Q7 has been available in the rest of world couple years earlier than NA. Most of those quirks were ironed out when introduced in NA.

Now, if you are not getting significant discount for MY17, then I would recommend going for MY18.

No. I think they fold in minor updates as soon as they are ready.

So no reason to believe the 2017 the Op is looking at has more issues than a 2018? Or, perhaps his 2018 will have fewer issues than yours? The point is one has no data to back up the claims, and every new car is potentially better than the last one off the line because it could have been updated. Or it could have been "updated" with something that breaks....
