Default 2017 Q7 Double image on HUD after windshield replacement

I have a 2017 Q7 that has the lane departure camera and an HUD. After windshield replacement by Safelite, I was getting a double image with the Aftermarket windshield, so I complained and it was replaced with an OEM model Pilkington 43R-001586 - see photo. Unfortunately the OEM model has the same problem as I don't think they used the exact model that's compatible with the HUD. Safelite will replace it again under warranty. However, I would be grateful if someone on this forum with the HUD could please post the model number of their windshield or a picture showing the stamp with the model number? Thanks.

@Catdx6 - Thanks for the quick reply! just to confirm, you have the 2017 Prestige with both the Lane Departure Camera and the HUD? That's definitely a different model than Safelite installed on my vehicle.
I'm going to send this information to the Satellite Executive Response team.

It's a 2017 with everything (including original windshield - fingers crossed) - good luck - hope it helps.

If it helps, I can confirm that my 2017 Prestige with HUD and DAP (Feb 2017 build) also has the -001622 windshield.

I recently had my windshield replaced by Safelite. I requested an OEM windshield with the HUD and lane departure features. The # on my windshiled is the 001622 model and it works fine with my HUD. It was pretty expensive though, the OEM was quoted at a higher price than the Safelite replacement.

Thanks for your reply.
The Safeflite Executive response team sent my email with the pictures above to the shop manager, who agrees they installed the incorrect window and they will replace it with the 001622 OEM window under warranty. Ill be sure to inspect the windshield for the correct stamp before they install it.

There will be no out-of pocket cost for me as it was originally an on my auto insurance as claim, and the subsequent replacements were under warranty. The main down side is the inconvenience is the time I've had to spend researching this and the possibility of collateral damage to the vehicle from another windshield replacement.

In the future, Ill know to push for exact OEM replacements on the glass.

Thanks to everyone on this Forum for the help! Safelite replaced the windhield today with the 001622 OEM window (Safelite Model number FW04383GTYOEM) and The HUD display is working with no double image.

How many times did it end up getting changed?

Please hit us with an update in six months on how the seal and wind noise are holding up.
