Default 2017 Q7 Oil Issues? First oil change

2017 Q7 3.0 about 6000 miles. Got a warning message saying that an oil level is low and top up needed. When speaking with the dealership on purchase, they explicitly mentioned I don't need any oil change, etc till the first service. Is this an issue with the Q7 others are facing too?

Also, did you do the oil change at an authorized dealership or regular firestone, etc? I have the audicare package so don't wanna mess up any warranties with the incorrect oil.

Appreciate the inputs.

First oil change at 10k miles is free. Plus...you have prepaid for the following 4 oil changes as part of Audi Care. Please take it to a dealer to take advantage of these. Besides, do you really trust the guys at Firestone with your 60k+ vehicle?

As for your oil level, why not call on the local dealer and ask them? They will probably top it off for free.

Do not take it to a chain oil place. Better to take to an indy Audi specialist and get an oil change with the right oil, you'll still save money over the dealer.

I added to my "oil burner" oil already twice, first time 0.5l @13,000km, and remaining 0.5l (bought 1l can) @27,000km. Will change oil for the first time @30,000km, maybe in the beginning of August.
For most of the August my Q7 will be parked at garage, will be traveling to US to check out how the solar eclipse looks like

30,000 km for the first oil change? Is that what Audi is recommending you do? That is too long.

Yes, this is exactley what Audi recommend. For diesel cars it is absolutely normal. Oil is fully synthetic, wears down much slower.
