why doesn't all of the interior lights turn on when I open a door on my 2018 Audi Q5

There is probably a switch on the upper console but you'd be better off asking in the Q5 forum, this is the Q7 forum.

+1, on Q7 you have to set a switch, which your wife will likely turn off when she drives it, sigh...
