At 2745 miles, My 2018 Q7 3.0 still shows oil at MAX. But I continue to monitor since my old 2011 Q5 was an oil burner.

I've added around 3/4 quart to my 3.0 that is around 9500 miles (not yet in for 1k service). Not something I was used to with prior vehicles but apparently not uncommon or a sign of a problem nowadays (or at least I hope).
Before synthetic oils with long mileage change intervals became the norm, I suspect that changing oil at the old standard of 3000 miles might have mask some oil consumption (it might have been down a bit, but you were changing and refilling rather than topping off). |
The consumption really depends on where you live (cold or hot) how you drive (stuck in traffic a lot) etc. You are also within your break in period so it may consume more oil during that time. Just best to check it regularly like every week

Im at 37K miles and never had to add oil.
|
Before I changed my oil at 5k miles, it was running about a quart low. Which I expected being a new engine. Now I have 23k miles on it and never seen the oil even slightly low.
|
I am at 1800 mile and see it's about 1/3 low. OMG, should call dealer to do oil consumption test?
|
I find this interesting as I've owned 4 vehicles with the 3.0T (see my signature). I purchased a quart of the appropriate oil to keep in both of my vehicles back in 2011, and to this date they have never been opened - I've never had to add oil between service.
|
By the way, I found something weird.
I check oil meter on MMI, it shows full , but it shows 1/3 low on my phone via audi connect! What the hell... Which one I should believe.... |
