Default 2019 Dashboard update

I just picked up my car after the 40,000 mile service and learned that 19's will most likely have a touch screen set up similar to Q8.
Seems a reasonable expectation to have dashboard uniformity with the 2019 models.

I doubt they'll redesign the dashboard that fast because the pop-up screen is pretty far away. I like that my screens don't have fingerprints on them, but several carplay functions are a pain (like maps).

I wonder how Waze and Google Maps will be with just the dial input.

Google Maps is fine. Waze is a little awkward.

I'm actually expecting this change to happen for MY2020..

MY19 would be a huge surprise because we haven't heard anything yet to that regards. I'd be the last to complain though if it's the case.

We will be getting a completely new set-up as seen on the A6/7. Where the screen is now doesn't really matter.

I was sure it would be for MY2020 - but look at the first post of this thread.

That's what I thought. I assume Audi offered some new features like the parking-assistant, new wheels, dynamic LED turn lights and the full leather to avoid a 'demand-ditch' until the new MMI roles out.

The interior redesign for the Q7 will occur for the 2020 model year which will be introduced mid 2019. Can’t say how I know. It will be touch screen like the next gen A8, A7, A6, etc. Funny since in 2013 Audi told their dealers at a corporate meeting that Audi would never use touch screens. I guess with the advent of hepatic feedback, print resistant glass, etc. they decided to revisit the concept.
