2019 q7 adaptive cruise control
So the base trim q5 has drivers assistance package with adaptive cruise control but you have to get the top trim to get the acc with traffic jam, which is basically autonomous driving under 40mph.
From what I can tell the q7/q8 ONLY offer acc with traffic jam in their drivers assistance package, which you can’t even get with the base trim. Is this accurate? Is the premium trim q7/q8 cruise control static and not adaptive at all?

You are correct. You need to get the hardware package that adds the radars (for adaptive cruise), or you cannot get the traffic jam assist. If you are new to Audi, the "autonomous driving" is a bit overrated. It's nothing like the smooth/seamlessness of a Tesla, but the traffic jam assist is nice if you have stop/go traffic a lot.
Steering is compared to bouncing a bowling ball off the lanes. Sometimes it's great, other days it has a "bad day" where its rough as heck.
