2019 Q7 oil change video ?

If the belly pan were made of (rigid) sheet metal, fewer fasteners would be required. A metal pan would also provide extra under body protection, but at a weight and expense penalty. The fiberboard that Audi uses would be prone to sag or tear at the lip, and quickly deteriorate, if fewer fasteners were used. My old BMW had a more convenient solution: a small plastic lid, held on by three screws, provided access to the drain plug and filter.

I 'm thinking about installing this valve to not having to remove all the various fasterners and the engine undercover for oil change:

I tried changing oil my self today
I believe it's 30 Nm or 22 ft-lb.
I found the video generally useful for my first oil change at 4k mi (old school) yesterday, with one bizarre exception. The tech loosens, but does not remove, the drain plug. He then tightens the plug, apparently without bothering to change the crush washer. Gotta say that this is not good practice. Every car (mostly German) on which I've ever changed the oil calls for renewing the crush washer when changing the oil.
Other than that, I noticed that his belly pan was fastened with a combination of phillips and torx screws. My 2019 uses only torx (T25 and T27) for this purpose. Further, the drain plug takes a T40.

Once you use an extractor you will never want to drain the oil again. I use a Mityvac on my LR4 and can change the oil & filter in 15 minutes or less and don't get dirty at all. And you can see exactly how much oil comes out and determine how much the engine used. Our LR4 has 115K miles on it, and at the last change it was 8 quarts in and 7.5 quarts out. Have not tried it on the Q7 yet but hopefully it works.
