Default 2019 Q7s BO with 21" and 22" options are they run flats?

So I am looking at different configurations with the Black Optics package.

The black optics offers 21" and 22" options.

Are either of them run flats? If they are not run flats, how do people with these tires take long trips?

The two tire options with black optics are:
  • Wheels: 21" 5-Spoke Blade Design Gloss Black
  • Tires: 285/35R22 Summer Performance

Thanks

so searching through I found this thread lack of spare tire which pretty much states, anything above a 20" tire is not a run flat.

The 21" tires for the MY19 BOP-option are all-season run-flats.

FOR MY17 & 18, the 21" tires for the BOP where performance tires but for MY19, they switched to all-seasons and RFs for that size. Now, the optional 22" tires are performance and non-RF.

All seasons may be more common now, but I do not think either the summer performance or the all season option of the 21" tires are run-flats. Run-flats do not exist in the 285/40-21 size.

Run-flats are typically only good for 50 miles of range after air loss. So probably not a lot of help on a long term road trip anyway.

Only solution is having an extra OEM or aftermarket same-sized full size spare to take with you on a long trip. Can live with it taking up extra space if you have a cargo box. I use a wheel from my winter set as my emergency spare.

The 2019 Q7 Prestige with BOP that I looked at yesterday had 21" run-flats.

I suspect they were Pirelli Scorpion Zero all season tires, but those are not run-flats. Not unless Audi is shipping a new OEM only tire that's not available for purchase. It has been a while since I have seen one but I think the window sticker can be confusing by mentioning run-flats for the standard 20" tires but that gets overridden by the 21" option

I carry a plug kit and pair of pliers with me on road trips. The possibility of being stranded waiting for road side assistance in the middle of nowhere is real

My BOP came with 21" Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS, and they are not run-flats. Haven't actually found any 21" AS run flats yet....

Too bad Audi won't offer the option of a donut spare in place of the useless-for-my-tall-family third row seats. I know they offer it in other markets but not North America. Our LR4 just turned 100K miles and I still can't find a good replacement. LR4 forum is like the old allroad forum here...members doing everything possible to keep their vehicles running forever now that they are extinct.
