Never. MMI will give me a warning when I'm down a quart

Why weekly? It gives you a warning message to add oil when it's a quart low. Just got to relax, it is not going to run out of oil, unless it is on your garage floor.

Eek! That's just the way I am. Maybe it's my German heritage.

Mine is 2.0 and heading to 23xxx miles. I check the oil level frequently and each time it shows full level. Hope this lasts.

Are we able to see the oil level in MMI? I just randomly check today at 15k and had to add a qt to bring it back to the normal level. Was barely a sliver above low. Had more highway miles this period so burned more.

Yes, in the service & checks menu. If you mean how much is in the car, no. Dip sticks only show the top quart in the reservoir. The MMI does the same. Easier to check than a dip stick and it actually gives you an MMI warning when a quart low, which a dip stick can't do.

Good question.

This is the bottle I've been carrying around in the back of my A5/S5 and Q7 vehicles since 2010. I think I'll stop at auto parts store tomorrow and pick up a few bottles of the Edge version, and ask if they'll dispose of the two old unopened quarts.
