Default Center armrest

For the center armrest - are there only two positions to adjust the angle?

Noticed during a long road trip this past weekend that the center armrest was pretty uncomfortable. Anyone else have this problem or just me?

Nope. The armrest should "stick" at just about any point you give it. Pull it up an inch, it holds at an inch. Pull it up 2", it holds there too.

Also, in case you didn't notice, the two parts slide forward and back independently.

My Q7 delivered back in Jun 16 only has the two "stops" in the adjustment range. It does not lock and hold any position between full down and full up like my '12 A6 does.

And don't put much weight on it either. My wife just leaned across it to the passenger seat with her weight resting on only one arm and the ratchet mechanism broke. It was replaced under warranty and still only has the two adjust points.

Unless I'm doing it wrong, mine (delivered last week) only has to adjustment points.

Yes - there are only two adjustment positions and they are not nearly as comfortable as I would like

I realize this sounds like a whine post - outside this experience, I totally love my Q7. Just wanted to check if I was missing something obvious.

2 adjustment positions is correct. And by the way, my center console is noisy as hell when I change its position. Anybody else experience this?

Yeah, it's a very creaky sound when adjusting. Pretty sure normal. It's just the sound of the ratchet mechanics. Mine this way since day one.
