Default Adaptive chassis package is it worth it ?

hey guys

I am currently market for Q7 and wondering the Adaptive chassis

package is it worth it ? it is 4000 dollar option and i can hardly find

one in my area. Of course adaptive chassis and air suspension will

provide higher ride quality and less body roll. can anyone tell me

whether it is must have option?

Mine Q7 is equipped with Adaptive Air Suspension Sport, not available in US. Hard to judge on difference, never driven Q7 without air suspension. Main visual difference, my Q7 on the street sits much lower than others, if side by side. I feel smaller But I wouldn't call it "must have". Must have in my opinion is HUD and ACC with efficiency assistant.

I think the 4-wheel steering would be cool, and the air suspension would certainly improve the ride. Having said that, I didnt get it. I've never had air suspension, and the standard suspension felt great to me anyway

I'm consistently amazed at how much smaller my car feels with the 4-wheel steering. It's roughly the same size as several other cars I test drove, and the steering was one of the big factors in our decision.

I think one of the main benefits of the air suspension is that you can adjust it to suit the road. On a highway you can make the ride very plush.
On a road with lots of turns, you can make the Q7 handle basically like a sedan. I've been in a Q7 with a normal suspension numerous times and own one with air suspension. My vehicle clearly has the capability of offering a more plush ride and/or better handling than the standard. The 4WS complicates the attribution a bit, as I'm not sure if the improved handling is 50% due to the suspension and 50% due to the 4WS or some other ratio. For US buyers the attribution is moot because you can't order 4WS separately from air suspension. Not sure this matters, but the air suspension also lets you dip the back end of the car significantly to make loading heavy boxes easier. Whether or not these features are worth the $ really depends on personal preference.

I kinda wanted it, but $4000 will buy a lot of other things. You can buy a nice and new 7x14 enclosed cargo trailer for $4000.

thanks a lot guys

This is first time i am buying SUV and i was concerning about body roll

hand handling.

I talked to local dealer and told me that prestige with adaptive chassis

package is rare. i am deciding whether i should go out of state and

purchase one with it or just purchase one without it from local dealer.

Why not buy it at your local dealer? Won't he sell it? My local dealer hasn't sold any with that package either but he took my order with it and placed it with Audi.

I've sold several, and have driven it multiple times. It is for sure a step above the standard suspension. From a handling perspective, less roll than the standard suspension - though everything is relative, as it is an SUV afterall, but not one that has any sort of "truck inclinations" to it.

If you tow, I could see the air suspension being beneficial from a levelling perspective. The setting in dynamic, with the chassis hunkered down, definitely looked awesome as well, for those into aesthetics.

Difficult for me to comment on the suspension because I never drove one without air - but I can tell you for sure that the all-wheel-steering with its small turning-radius puts a smile on my face every day...
